RV Rental Woods Cross, UT

Woods Cross is a small town, so there aren’t many RV parks within the city limits, however, there are a number of them close by and the Wasatch Mountains to the east provide countless opportunities for camping.

Pony Express RV Park and Campground will be one of your closest options and is located in the adjacent city of North Salt Lake. Sites come with all the usual amenities (electrical, water, and sewage hookups) and bike rentals are available if you’d prefer to explore the city on two wheels. If you head up I-215 in the Woods Cross rental RV, there’s a Walmart 12 minutes to the north in Centerville for when you need extra supplies. There’s also a truck stop right outside the park, which is perfect for fueling up without maneuvering through the tight quarters of a city service station.

Lagoon RV Park and Campground is another choice just 10 minutes from Woods Cross in Farmington. It’s within walking distance of the Lagoon Amusement Park, which is great if you’re bringing kids along on the trip. If you’d prefer to stay somewhat closer to Salt Lake City with the Woods Cross camper rental, the Salt Lake City KOA is about 15 minutes south of Woods Cross. As with most KOA campgrounds, they have plenty of amenities including a pool and hot tub, camp kitchen, and a dog park.

For a more rustic campsite, the Sunset Campground, about a half-hour northeast of Woods Cross, has several sites available in a mountain setting.

As a bedroom community for Salt Lake City, most of Woods Cross is comprised of residential neighborhoods and there aren’t too many attractions in the immediate area. It’s a quiet town to relax in, but you’ll need to travel at least to the adjacent city of North Salt Lake if you’re looking for things to do.

If you’ve been through Utah, you’ve probably noticed one of its most popular confectioneries, Mrs. Cavanaugh’s. Their chocolate factory runs tours throughout the week. Tours last about an hour and you learn how the chocolate is prepared and get to see some of the workers producing it on the factory floor. Also, it probably wouldn’t hurt to buy a pound or two of sweets in their shop.

A visit to the Salt Lake area wouldn’t be complete without stopping at the Mormon Temple. It’s the most famous symbol of the city and the literal center of it, with all streets numbers originating from it. While many of the temple buildings are closed to the general public, the famous Tabernacle is open and you can view one of the largest pipe organs in the world there.

Utah and the Salt Lake City area, in particular, are an outdoor lover’s paradise. The nearby Wasatch Mountains are a playground for hikers and mountain bikers during the summer and a haven for skiers visiting during the winter. Renting an RV in Woods Cross makes all that the mountains have to offer within easy reach.

Donut Falls and Ensign Peak Park are some of the most popular hiking areas near Woods Cross. Both have relatively easy trails that are suitable for all fitness levels and Ensign Peak sports some of the best views of the city and surrounding area. If golf is more your style, there are quite a few golf courses in the area, all within 15 minutes of Woods Cross.

Visitors arriving on their Woods Cross motorhome rental vacation during the winter will need to check out some of the ski resorts on the eastern face of the Wasatch Mountains. The famous Snowbird, Alta, Deer Valley, and Sundance resorts are all located within easy driving distance of Woods Cross and Salt Lake City, and if you’re a skier or a snowboarder, a day of powder at one of these ski hills is a dream come true.
