There are many pull-thru sites on Chandler Hill Campground, meaning all sizes of rigs are welcomed here.

Petoskey RV Resort is a little further away from Walloon Lake, but again offers exceptional amenities and facilities for RV campers. Full hookups are provided here, including 20, 30, 50 amp electric, sewer, and water hookups. The campground includes an on-site hot tub, general store, and a heated swimming pool. Pets are more than welcome on this campground but must be kept on a leash at all times.

Exploring the Area

Avalanche Bay Indoor Waterpark, a few miles south of Walloon Lake, offers a great day out for the whole family. The waterpark has a wide verity of pools to enjoy, each one with its own special purpose. The ‘Blizzard Bay’ offers the chance to play a bit of sport in the pool, including water basketball. The ‘Haute Route Water Crossing’ pool poses an aquatic obstacle course great for those who love a challenge. Avalanche Bay Indoor Waterpark also has a children’s pool, its zero-depth pool provides a safe but fun environment for the little ones, allowing parents to sit back and relax.

For those with a taste for all things art and culture, head over to Boyne City and the Freshwater Art Gallery. This art gallery and concert venue represents two-hundred of Michigan’s artists and showcases a wide range of their work. The exhibits on show range across many mediums, including paintings, pottery and jewelry making, blown glass, and much more. Alongside this plethora of art, Freshwater Art Gallery hosts live music events once a month. A visit to Boyne City would not be complete without a visit to the ‘Earl Young Mushroom Houses.' Take a walking or driven tour around these uniquely designed houses by the self-taught builder and architect Earl Young. These buildings are known locally as Gnome Homes, Mushroom Houses, or Hobbit Houses - showing the unique fantasy charm they offer. These buildings are found nowhere else and are a must-see when in Charlevoix County.
