The Great Outdoors

Located between so many natural wonders, there are countless ways to venture into the great outdoors in your luxury RV rental from University Place.

Titlow Beach Park, a convenient spot for a quick stroll out of town is located just north of the city. This is one of the best places to go in the state if you fancy hunting for some periwinkles, starfish, and jellyfish on this rocky coastline. Take a long stroll along the beach, search for some wildlife and then end it all with a refreshing drink and bite to eat from one of the restaurants offering an oceanfront view.

Chamber’s Bay and Golf Course is much more than a place to try out your golfing skills (although it is ideal for golfers of any level to try their hand!). In fact, this 250-acre course is the perfect place to explore the park and creek by foot. The Chambers Bay walking trail loops three miles around the grounds, showcasing the best that the park has to offer!

As you are leaving University Place for the day, head northwest along highway 16 to cross the impressive Tacoma Narrows Bridge. Built-in 1940 it was the first suspension bridge built in Washington. It is an incredible feat of engineering and well worth a quick visit if you have time. Continue on over the bridge and the highway will lead you to the mighty Olympic Mountains, a wilderness worth exploring.

RV Parks

While there are no RV campgrounds in University Place, take a beautiful drive over the bridge to Gig Harbor or down to Olympia, and you will find plenty of options to choose from.

Across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, one of the first and best RV Campgrounds you will come across is Gig Harbor RV Resort. This site offers large sites, full hookups for your RV as well as modern amenities, all at very affordable prices. This is an ideal place to park your University Place camper rental and enjoy a bit of luxury camping!

Cruise down by Olympia, and you will find several options there as well. Riverbend Campground is located on Nisqually River and provides a tranquil and scenic spot for RV’s to set up for a few days. Some sites offer full hookups for your RV; however, you will need to come early or even book in advance to guarantee one of these sites!

Along the same stretch of river, you will find Nisqually River Campsite. More primitive in its approach to camping, this area offers free camping spots along the pristine river. There are no facilities here; so self-contained vehicles are ideal!

Should you find yourself needing a quick overnight stay. Park your luxury motorhome rental from University Place at Walmart where overnight camping may be allowed. Just talk with the manager and get permission before you settle in.

Exploring the City

University Place has plenty to take advantage of so jump out of your RV rental and take a leisurely walk around town, making sure to hit up some of the hot spots!

Within University Place itself, there are an incredible amount of museums, covering a huge variety of themes. Visit Washington State History Museum and the immersive displays that provide education on the notable people and places of Washington as well as the influence the state has had on America and the world. Other museums worth an hour or two of your time include the Museum of Glass, and the LeMay Car Museum, a worthy visit for the avid car collectors and enthusiasts.

Should you be seeking a deeper history of the area, take a visit to the Historic Fort Steilacoom. This museum is great for all ages and takes you on a journey through the lives of military personnel including soldiers, their families, and civilians that worked for the garrison.

If the kids are a bit tired of the museums, schedule a visit up to Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium located at the very northern tip of Pierce County. With views of the Puget Sound and Mount Rainer, spend hours enjoying the different species on display.

Should it be a perfect adventure so you may bask in the Washington landscape, consider a travel trailer in University Place. Enjoy the local cuisine, watch a sunrise, and sit by a cozy fire. Rent an RV in University Place, WA and explore the state!
