Tremonton, Utah, is a city in Box Elder County that was first settled in 1888 but remained mostly uninhabited until around 1900. Realtors were selling the idea of relocating to the area and around 1898, Protestant settlers from Illinois and Nebraska began arriving. Earlier settlers were Mormon in faith and both groups were joined by Apostolic Christians who were mostly from Tremont, Illinois, and mostly German. A townsite was developed in 1903 and the Germans requested that it be named Tremont (after their previous home); this caused confusion with the post service, who had another post office in Central Utah named Fremont. As a result, the town's name was changed to Tremonton by the townsfolk in 1907.

Book an RV in Box Elder County and you are ready to explore the Utah countryside in comfort and style. There are other towns and cities that could also be interesting to visitors. Richmond's name origin is uncertain but is thought to have been either after the rich local soil, after Richmond, London (some of the settlers' hometown) or after Latter Day Saints apostle Charles C. Rich. Logan's streets are named by their direction (north, south, east, and west) from the city center and grow in increments of 100 (100 North, 200 North, etc), with only a few exceptions. Ogden is a perfect manufacturing and commerce location due to its ability to handle large amounts of freight traffic (it has been a major railway hub since its beginning). Coalville got its start when its founder, William Henderson Smith, observed that spilled wheat from previous wagons had taken root and started to grow. West Jordan's city limits extend from the Jordan River, after which the city is named, to the Oquirrh Mountains' eastern foothills and Kennecott Copper Mine, the world's largest man-made excavation. Your Tremonton travel trailer rental is how you will be able to see all of this in comfort and style.

The Great Outdoors

Millville Face Wildlife Management Area is an undeveloped multi-use nature preserve. Visitors can hike, take photos, and observe nature and resident wildlife. Hunting and fishing may be allowed (hunting in season only), check with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources to find out.

Box Elder Peak is a lesser-known outdoor destination that provides hiking opportunities to locals and visitors. It has scenic views of Cache Valley and the Great Salt Lake and is near two other peaks that allow for hiking, Wellsville Cone and Mendon Peak.

Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge is a managed wildlife area that provides shelter to a variety of bird species, such as the white-faced ibis and the American white pelican. The refuge is also an important food source, both for its vegetation and shellfish, such as brine shrimp and similar macro-invertebrates. Some bird species stay in the refuge to reproduce. Hunting and fishing are allowed at certain times of the year and an autoroute allows visitors to drive through the refuge, getting a close look at the wildlife and landscape. Your Tremonton motorhome rental is the perfect vehicle for such a trip.

Customers eating here should try the jalapeno and salami pizza, a favorite amongst night clubbers but don't let that fool you. That, however, is how it should be; vacations are supposed to be spontaneous and fun, so go with the flow and enjoy it.
