Stewartsville is an unincorporated community within Warren County, New Jersey. It is also a census-designated place within Greenwich Township. The town was named after one of George Washington's secretaries, Thomas Stewart, who bought property there in 1793. The small community was an important site during the American Revolutionary War and has a number of historic sites within its borders where battles were fought. The Old Greenwich Presbyterian Church Cemetery has the graves of a number of soldiers who fought and died, including General William Maxwell. The church was first built in 1739 as a log building, but was later replaced by a stone church in 1775 and finally by the current building in 1835.

Book an RV in Warren County, and you are one step closer to an adventure you will not soon forget. There are some other towns and communities that you should visit while you're here. Hackettstown is home to Mars Chocolate USA headquarters, the American wing of Mars, Incorporated (which makes the candy bars, pet foods, and rice). Flemington is listed on the New Jersey Register of Historic Places as Flemington Historic District; 65% of the borough had been placed on the list by 1980. Edison was named after the inventor Thomas Edison, who had his workspace in the Menlo Park district. Trenton was first mentioned on June 3, 1719, in a memo about a constable being appointed to Trenton. Doylestown is a borough in nearby Bucks County, Pennsylvania, which received its first electric telegraph station in 1846. Your Stewartsville travel trailer rental is how you will see this historic area in style and comfort.

Discover Stewartsville

The Great Outdoors

Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area is a popular outdoor recreation area that straddles the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Local citizens enjoy coming here to swim, hike and bike, and engage in other activities. The park has a scenic drive where visitors can appreciate the beauty of the park and try to spot some of the area's wildlife residents. It is a perfect opportunity to learn why RV vacations are so popular, and your Stewartsville camper rental is how you will begin to understand.

Pinchot State Forest is open year-round from dawn to dusk, providing the public with opportunities to go hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Swimming and boating are allowed, and some areas are open for visitors to have a picnic. It is a full-service park that provides nature education and interpretive events; guests can join in on guided walks, and there are hands-on activities that are suitable for both children and adults.

Wharton State Forest is an opportunity for the public to go canoeing or kayaking on any of the park's rivers, lakes, and ponds. The park contains Batsto Village, a former industrial glass center that operated from 1766 to 1867. There are hiking trails that meander through woodlands and open fields, and unpaved roads where guests can go mountain biking and horseback riding. Visitors will want to be on the lookout for bald eagles, great-horned owls, and other bird species, as well as mammals and plant life, in one of the largest refuges in the New Jersey State Park System.

Exploring The City

There are lots of things to see and do in Stewartsville. There is a state center for the arts and an aqua park with rides, scuba diving, and just regular swimming if that's enough. Scuba divers will enjoy the underwater ships and planes that are an added bonus. There are a number of museums, and one of them is dedicated to the local canal; it has indoor exhibits and a boat ride along the canal, a playground for children, and hiking trails for those who want to stretch their legs while viewing. And there is a train ride that families can take, with extraordinary views and onboard activities. Don't forget to take your Stewartsville motorhome rental for a spin out on the highways; RV vacations can be addictive, and once you've cruised the highways, you'll know why.

Stewartsville has a good variety of restaurants on hand, and most of them are locally owned and operated. One of the Indian restaurants is open for lunch and dinner and can also cater to those requesting takeout. The ingredients are fresh, and everything is prepared in-house; there is a lunch buffet that guests can eat from if they can't decide on just one dish. Diners checking this restaurant out must try the Indian coffee with whichever meal they order; the coffee alone is reason enough to come back again and again. Portions are large, and you will probably want to take your leftovers home to your Stewartsville luxury RV rental for a late-night snack or next day's lunch (this is assuming it lasts that long).
