Shipshewana is a small town in northern Indiana, located close to the border with Michigan. The city is halfway between Detroit and Chicago, and is a two-hour drive from each city. The first European settlers arrived in the Shipshewana region in the early 1830s. Shipshewana was named after a local Potawatomi Indian. This town is also famous for its Amish and Mennonite communities. Shipshewana North Park Campground is on the opposite side of the town from South Park. This charming park is in a natural setting and also features a beautiful Florida room for activities and events, a barn-style meeting room, an oak pavilion, full hookups, and an ice cream and frozen custard stand. The park also has Wi-Fi and is wheelchair-accessible. Local attractions like a flea market, buggy and carriage rides, Dentzel Carousel, and others, are all close to the campground and you can take a short ride or a walk to access them.

Shipshewana Auction and Flea Market is one of the main attractions in the area, and it brings a lot of visitors from all around.
