The Lee County Courthouse is a gorgeous work of art built in 1908 featuring the Classical Revival style. Additionally, there are several other historically noteworthy sites to check out like the Farish-Lambeth House, Sanford High School building, and Seaboard Milling Company building. The Temple Theater is yet another historic landmark that contains traces of art-deco and colonial revival styles of architecture. The theater still operates to this day, often times hosting theatrical productions and musical performances. The Historic Railroad House is a gothic revival building that is crucial to the town’s history due to the importance of the railway that led to its creation. The building operates as a museum showcasing photography, informational plaques, and artifacts dating back to the ancient indigenous tribes that lived in Sanford thousands of years ago.
