Sanborn is a hamlet centrally located in Niagara County, New York. While historically the original village was located at the western end of Cambria, the Sanborn area now spans the towns of Cambria, Lewiston, and Wheatfield, on the southern side of the intersection of New York State Route 429 and New York State Route 31.

The hamlet was once called South Pekin, named after its former location further north near the village of Pekin. In 1866, a reverend named Ebenezer Sanborn came to the area, and once his son Lee Sanborn became the local Postmaster, the village was named “Sanborn."
