Founded during the Gold Rush of the 19th century, San Andreas may be a small town, but its name is more than notorious. The San Andreas Fault is a geological fault line that runs up and down the coastline of California, all the way into Baja, California. The town is a California Historical Landmark and is situated right on State Route 49. It was initially settled by Mexican gold miners in 1848.
