Sammamish is a mid-sized town just outside Bellevue. Like many parts of Washington, Sammamish has lots to offer in terms of natural beauty. There are nine large parks inside the city and many more in the surrounding area. Furthermore, as a Seattle-area town, Sammamish has plenty of shopping and dining opportunities for travelers, not to mention a number of fine RV parks. All these things make it a good idea to book an RV in Sammamish and use it to explore this part of the Evergreen State.

Discover Sammamish

Experience the Sites and Scenery

If the lake is so nice that they named a town after it, that body of water is probably worth checking out. So, Lake Sammamish should probably be one of the first stops for your Sammamish RV rental. This deep lake is also quite large, as it runs all the way from Redmond to Issaquah. Lake many parts of Washington, Lake Sammamish’s ecology is very delicate. Balancing the need for development with environmental preservation is always a work in progress. Beavers and salmon are of particular concern. But because of these efforts, you can take your Sammamish rental RV to the lakeside and enjoy activities like waterskiing, watersurfing, canoeing, and tubing.

If you enjoy lakes, you definitely came to the right place. Beaver Lake is just a stone’s throw away, and it’s almost as big and as nice. Powered boats are not allowed, but the options are wide open in terms of rowing, sailing, and floating. Boat fishing in the middle of the lake is best for trout; for bass, try the lily pads and the shallow waters.

In Washington, people and nature coexist pretty well together. The Evans Creek Preserve is a good example. It’s a vast nature area which is directly across the street from Redmond’s STEM high school. The Preserve’s two nature trails are almost literally brand new. So are many of the facilities, including parking suitable for a Sammamish rental RV, restrooms, and a visitors center.

Nearby Renton is home to the Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park. The park has thirty-eight miles of hiking trails, in addition to twelve miles of horseback-riding trails. There are a number of mountain peaks in the Park. They all offer good views of the local geography as well as some local oddities, like a former Cold War military installation. These elevated points also mean that there are numerous scenic waterfalls in the Park, along with tranquil marshes and other hydrological features.

City Attractions

Each year, more than three million people come to Marymoor Park. It’s the oldest and largest park in King County. Park attractions include historic buildings, a summer concert series, rock climbing opportunities, and a huge community garden. To experience a different part of the area in your Sammamish motorhome rental, stop by the Vedic Cultural Center. This stunning temple is a nice place for those who want to practice their faith, learn more about the culture, or simply experience some great architecture. The Center offers many classes in culture and music, along with food samples. While you’re in town, be sure and stop by the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Brandes House. The 1950s-era house is one of the few remaining examples of Usonian architecture which stresses a natural flow between outdoor and indoor living.

What’s Unique

In Washington State, nature and man come together. That doesn’t happen in many other parts of the country. Sammamish is a great example of this symmetry. As the area has grown in recent decades, it has not lost that balance. Moreover, both people and nature seem to be fairly satisfied with the state of affairs, promoting a very healthy atmosphere that visitors can feel from their Sammamish camper rentals.

Where to Park It

The secluded Tall Chief RV & Camping Resort is a very nice place to park your Sammamish motorhome rental. Located in nearby Fall City, the heavily-forested Resort is also very close to area attractions. Park amenities include full laundry and bathroom facilities, a basketball court, spacious clubhouse, and a swimming pool/whirlpool area. Or, you and your family may like the Issaquah Village RV Park. It’s nestled inside the Cascade Mountains just outside of town. The park has plenty of grass and over fifty full-service hookup sites for your Sammamish RV rental.

The Food

Very few things can compare with fresh seafood from Washington’s many lakes and rivers. We prefer traditional dishes, like grilled fish over rice with lemon juice. For the more adventurous, there’s Spanish style and Mediterranean style stuffed fish. Oh, and the maple salmon is to die for. And don’t forget the fish tacos or tuna noodle casserole. There are so many varieties, and they’re all available to you.

A Sammamish rental RV is the key to unlocking all these possibilities, so all you have to do is experience them.
