Randle, Washington is small a town on the outskirts of Gifford Pinchot National Forest nestled between the snow-capped peaks of Mount Rainier National Park and Mount St. Helens. Surrounded by forests, mountains, rivers, and streams, Randle is the perfect place to get away and reconnect with nature. Along the White Pass Scenic Byway — a nationally recognized 124-mile corridor offering passersby spectacular views of Washington — there is so much to do and see when you book an RV in Lewis County.
Towering moss-covered trees surround this primarily residential community in western Washington. Because of its abundance of forests and trees, an active timber mill operates in the area. But despite being an active logging city, thousands of acres of pristine, untouched wilderness attract hundreds of thousands of visitors to the Randle area each year.
Book a motorhome rental in Randle if you love the outdoors. Being outside is a way of life, and it’s very easy to immerse yourself in the wilderness here. Surrounded by national parks and national forests, there is always something beautiful to see and something adventurous to experience around the corner.
When you visit Randle, don’t miss the opportunity to explore Mount Rainier National Park. At an elevation of 14,410 feet above sea level, Mount Rainier is an active volcano and an icon in Washington’s landscape. The most glaciated peak in the contiguous United States, Mount Rainier spawns five major rivers; it’s no wonder why Native Americans used to call this majestic mountain Tahoma, “the big mountain where the waters begin”. Apart from soaking in the scenery and viewing the park’s wildlife, including elk, bears, cougars, deer, turkeys, coyotes, mountain goats, and red foxes, visitors to Mount Rainier National Park can enjoy hiking the 260 miles of maintained trails, skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, rock climbing, and practically every other outdoor activity imaginable.
Another lesser-known yet equally awesome place to visit near Randle is Ape Cave at Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument. The cave is in Gifford Pinchot National Forest in Skamania County and is the third longest lava tube in North America with a length of 13,042 feet. After walking through the lava tube, visitors can either turn around and exit the way they came or continue into the Upper Cave. If you’re claustrophobic and a trek underground doesn’t sound appealing to you, there are tons of other things you can do while visiting Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument. For a once-in-a-lifetime experience, visitors can hike to the top of Mount St. Helens, another active volcano in the Randle area. Just be sure to get to the visitor's center early because a permit is required to hike to the top, and only 100 permits are issued each day.
There is no shortage of RV parks if you book an RV rental in Randle. One option is Maple Grove Resort. The park’s greatest amenity is its location — in the center of a triangle formed by Mount Rainier, Mount St. Helens, and Mount Adams. Apart from its location, guests at Maple Grove Resort can enjoy an indoor swimming pool, hot tub, playground, and nine-hole golf course all while soaking in stunning views. Since the RV park has some frontage to Cowlitz River, guests can do a little fishing, too. The campground offers sites with 30-50 amp electrical hook-ups.
If you’re looking for a small, family-owned RV park, Tower Rock U-Fish RV Park Campground is an option. Here, there are RV sites with full hookups. Each campsite has a fire pit and a picnic table. Guests can enjoy fishing for trout at the campground pond or spending some time on the volleyball and badminton courts. Restrooms with flushing toilets are available, and pets are welcomed. Just be sure to stock up on food beforehand because although Tower Rock U-Fish does have some camping supplies, ice, propane, and firewood available for purchase, the nearest grocery store is a bit of a drive away.
Cascade Peaks is another possibility should you book an RV rental near Randle. The RV park has over 500 campsites sprawled across 80 acres. Amenities include two outdoor pools, a playground, zip lines, a restaurant, country store, laundry area, picnic trails, and nature trails for hiking and biking. Guests might even be able to sneak a peek of elk or deer, both of which are frequently seen around the campground. Cascade Peaks has campsites with full hookups and some with water and electricity hookups.
The outdoors are a way of life here in Randle. Nearly everything to do in and around Randle is outdoors or somehow related to the outdoors. Sounds like heaven, right? Well, if you don’t think so, there are a few things nearby that might help you feel reconnected to civilization. Morton is by no means a big city, but it does have some city-like features that Randle lacks, like a bowling alley.
But bowling might not be at the top of the list when you have a luxury RV rental in Randle. The city is located along the nationally recognized White Pass Scenic Byway. This 124-mile road passes through many small villages, river valleys, alpine country, foothills, and resource lands. Along the Scenic Byway are tons of opportunities for recreational activities, from horseback riding to rock climbing and white-water rafting to skiing. Park your Randle RV rental and hop out to explore, or just sit back with a mug of hot cocoa and just enjoy the view from your mobile accommodations.
