Rabun Gap, GA is a small, unincorporated city in Rabun County. It is located just north of Clayton and Mountain City. This small town is the center of the county's farming community, as it has a relatively flat terrain in this river valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Rabun County offers popular trails such as: the Bartram Trail, Shortline Trail (Tallulah Falls Rail-Trail), and the Angel Falls Trail. The Bartram Trail is a main route in the Appalachian Trail and may be partially hiked in one day. For the more adventurous, consider taking a few days and hiking all the way through. Both Angel Falls and the Shortline Trail are moderate day hikes and provide wonderful landscape views.

All of these outdoor opportunities lie in the Chattahoochee National Forest and are in close proximity, within 30 minutes, to Rabun Gap. In this National Forest, you'll also find Panther Creek, which has a breathtaking waterfall view. Panther Creek is located just South of Tallulah Gorge and is approximately a 7-mile, round trip, moderate hike.
