Twenty miles north of the nation’s capital, Olney is an unincorporated community in the state of Maryland. Although officially established and founded in 1763, Olney has been inhabited for centuries by indigenous people. In the early 19th century, Olney started attracting artisans, farmers, and business owners with welcoming arms, although it remained a mostly agricultural community until the 1960s. Olney is named for a town in England.

As is the case with most towns in Maryland, Olney is a storied community with an incredible past. Lots of historic structures, monuments, and homes grace the community, each with a fascinating story to tell. Olney is made up of several smaller communities, with the largest concentration of businesses residing at the junction of State Routes 97 and 108.

Despite being quite close to both Washington D.C. and Baltimore, Olney is far enough removed from the populous metro areas to retain an agrarian atmosphere and laid-back vibes. When you book an RV in Olney, pleasant parks and large swaths of land await you.
