Discover North Bend

The Great Outdoors

Be prepared to take some time during your rental RV trip to wonder about the trees. Washington has incredible old and new forest growth complemented by a nice lineup of wildlife. There is no short of hiking trails in King County.

Rattlesnake Lake Recreation Area can be found in North Bend right off I-90 exit 32. The day-use park allows access to a 111-acre lake, picnic tables, and the Rattlesnake Ledge Trail. Swim and fish on the lake or see where the trail leads for hours of joyous fun.

For a vaster expanse of mountains, the Summit at Snoqualmie in nearby Snoqualmie Pass offers spectacular year-round views. The Summit is home to a ski resort boasting 1,994 skiable acres and 25 chairlifts. So, if it’s snowing, don’t postpone your drive in your North Bend camper rental.

Speaking of Snoqualmie, the notable Snoqualmie Falls are just 5 miles from North Bend. The massive 270 ft. waterfalls gushes water and might just send a refreshing mist your way depending which observation deck you choose to use. The falls are at the heart of this two-acre park, and all trails seem to lead back here.

RV Parks

With all the woodland around, it’s no surprise there are a handful of campgrounds and parks found within just North Bend alone. You’ll want to double check what each offers. Some are on the more primitive end while others come equipped with full hookups. But what you can expect at all is a peaceful environment supplemented by the symphony of the wild.

If for some reason you cannot find what you’re wanting for overnight accommodations in North Bend while in town with your RV rental, the surrounding towns might be able to help. Kent and Issaquah, for example, have a couple, more traditional RV parks. Stay in a more secluded area or choose to interact with other travelers on their way through King County. No matter your final choice, you can’t go wrong here.

Exploring the City

We’ve already briefly mentioned it but seriously check out Twede’s Café if only to say you’ve been there. The café was made popular by the show Twin Peaks where its cherry pie, specifically, is raved about. The old-school diner is a charming piece of cinematography history and serves equally delicious food.

The downtown of North Bend is a lovely collection of shops, venues, and eateries. Catch a show at the North Bend Theater before or after dining out. Seek out all the local live music scenes (trust us, there’s quite a few) and never go a day on your travel trailer rental trip to North Bend without a musical interlude. Spend the day shopping around. Aside from locally own boutique storefronts, North Bend offers their own premium outlets with many favorite brands at fabulous prices.

To learn more about the area, North Bend maintains both the Northwest Railway Museum and the Snoqualmie Valley History Museum. Both exhibit pieces of Washington’s rich history through their own niches. The museums are a great way to see King County through the times.

Of course, for a larger, modernized city experience, Seattle isn’t too far off in the distance. The home of Starbuck’s is a sight to be seen. The famous Pike’s Place Market is an easy way to spend a couple hours even if you have no intention of purchasing anything. The Space Needle and the Pier 57 Ferris wheel are icons of the city; you’ll be able to spot them quickly as you drive towards Seattle.

North Bend continues to draw visitors on its own, but it doesn’t hurt that it’s a very central spot within a very happening spot in Washington.
