Discover Naselle

The Great Outdoors

Reserve an RV rental in Naselle, Washington and explore scenic Washington. Less than 15 minutes north of Naselle, you’ll encounter Willapa National Wildlife Refuge. Established in 1937 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt with the goal of protecting migratory birds and their habitat, Willapa National Wildlife Refuge is home to over 200 different bird species. Roosevelt elk, chum salmon, black bears, a variety of amphibians, insects, and other wildlife make their home in the refuge. While at Willapa, visitors can enjoy a hike, wildlife viewing, boating on Willapa Bay, and primitive camping on Long Island.

If you feel like adding some mileage onto the odometer of your RV rental from Naselle, take a two-hour drive to Olympic National Park. This majestic national park encompasses almost one million acres and preserves a variety of ecosystems including old-growth rain forests, 70 miles of coastline, and glacier-capped mountains. There is so much to do when you rent a motorhome in Naselle and head up to Olympic National Park. If you’re in the mood for boating, lakes, rivers, and coasts await you. Want to camp? Stay at one of the park’s 16 campgrounds. Up for a day hike or some long-distance backpacking? The park boasts miles upon miles of rugged trails. Whatever your desire, you can do it when you rent an RV and visit Olympic National Park.

If you book an RV rental near Naselle, you definitely shouldn’t pass up the opportunity to visit Cape Disappointment State Park in Ilwaco, Washington. Though the name of the park is a bit somber (well, quite depressing, actually), this beautiful state park will be anything but a disappointment. The park is located where the Columbia River meets the Pacific Ocean and features several trails meandering through old-growth forests, saltwater marshes, and ocean tidelands. And the best part is that if you reserve a camper rental in Naselle, you can camp at Cape Disappointment State Park. The park’s campground has 50 full hook-up sites and 18 partial hook-up campsites. There are also showers and restrooms, so come to Cape Disappointment; you won’t be disappointed.

RV Parks

Search for an RV in Pacific County and stay at one of the many local RV parks. One option is Fisherman's Cove RV Park in Ilwaco. Located on Long Beach Peninsula, the RV park features several full hook-up sites with Wi-Fi, an on-site coin laundry, and restrooms. The RV park is only a short distance from the Ilwaco harbor, making it quite the contender if you plan on spending some time out on the water.

Another possibility is Mermaid Inn and RV Park in Long Beach, Washington. The modern RV park has a limited number of full hook-up sites. Each site is leveled and graveled, contains a grassy area with a picnic table, and features full hookups including 20/30 amp electrical service and cable TV hookups. Guests to the RV park also have access to hot showers, a coin laundry facility, common areas with barbecue grills, fish cleaning sink, and Wi-Fi. Pets are welcome, and the RV park is only a short walk to the beach.

Exploring the City

Since 1982, Naselle has hosted the Finnish-American Folk Festival. Every two years, visitors and residents gather to keep alive the Finnish-American traditions, customs, and language of the early settlers. Food vendors, entertainers, artists, and all those seeking to keep the Finnish influence in Naselle vibrant gather on a particular day in July to enjoy fun Finnish fellowship.

The Astoria Column in Astoria, Oregon is another nearby attraction. The 125-foot tower was built in 1926 atop the 600-foot tall Coxcomb Hill. Climb the spiral staircase within the tower to an observation deck at the top. From the deck, visitors are rewarded with unrivaled views of Young’s Bay, the Coast Ranges, the Columbia River, and the Pacific Ocean far off in the distance.

Peter Iredale shipwreck is another site to see along the Pacific Coast. Located in Warrenton, Oregon, the four-masted steel barque ran aground Clatsop Beach in 1906 after getting caught up in the breakers. None of the crew were severely injured. However, the day after the crash, dozens of people came to see the crash, so city officials decided not to remove the wreckage. Today, although sand, wind, and waves have broken up the ship, the Peter Iredale shipwreck has remained a popular attraction in Warrenton.
