Napavine is considered a bedroom community for larger regions of Washington state, including Olympia and Cowlitz. It was officially incorporated in 1913, but settlers began arriving in this area in the mid-19th century. A Scottish immigrant by the name of James Urquhart named the area Napavine based on the Native American word ‘Napavoon,’ which means “small prairie”. When you book one of the RV rentals in Lewis County, you’ll be in the midst of the central region of the state, not too far away from some amazing forest lands, mountain ranges, and gorgeous blue waters of the Pacific Ocean.

Napavine is located about 30 miles south of Olympia, which rests right along the Budd Inlet. To the southeast, you can visit Mount Saint Helens National Volcanic Monument near Harrington Place. A bit farther to the southeast is Gifford Pinchot National Forest. If you head north, you can check out Capitol State Forest near Olympia or, if you don’t mind a two-hour drive north with your motorhome rental in Napavine, you can visit Olympic National Park.
