Discover Mount Juliet

The Great Outdoors

A travel trailer rental in Mount Juliet is a fun and practical way to get back to nature and discover the forests, lakes and outdoor activities that Wilson County has to offer.

When you rent a motorhome in Mount Juliet, don’t miss the chance to visit the Long Hunter State Park which is located on the borders of J. Percy Priest Lake. This 26,000-acre natural area has over 20 miles of hiking trails, passing through a mixture of difficult uphill terrain and gentle lakeside paths. Visitors can identify tree species and watch for wildlife on the Arboretum Trail, or take the park’s well-marked 5.5-mile Volunteer Trail. The Long Hunter State Park is divided into four sections: Sellars Farm, Bryant Grove, Backers Grove, and Couchville. You can drive your Mount Juliet RV rental to any one of these four areas but the closest entrance is in the Couchville section. Aside from hiking, the park is equipped with a visitor’s center, two primitive camping areas, and two boat launch ramps for water activities.

Cedars of Lebanon State Park is another perfect place for an adventure in your Mount Juliet rental RV. The area earned its biblical name from its early American settlers and in 1955, became an official state park. Inside, visitors can discover over 12.5 miles of horseback riding trails and wander eight miles of forested hiking trails. The Cedars of Lebanon State Park is also teeming with birdlife and wildlife. Walkers can observe a number of species including the chuck-will’s-widow and the prairie warbler. This nature park may be small at only 900 acres, but is hosts over 100 campsites which are fully set up for RV camping with electric and water hookups, picnic tables and barbeque areas as well as a swimming pool and 18-hole golf course.

RV Parks

Wilson County is filled with excellent RV parks and campgrounds, most of which are located in scenic areas outside of city centers.

One of the closest RV parks to Mount Juliet is the Seven Points Campground which sits between green hills and the banks of J. Percy Priest Lake. This site offers 59 shady spaces with electric and water hookups. Onsite, guests have access to two communal picnic areas, washrooms and laundry facilities, showers, drinking water, dump station, trash collection, and BBQ facilities. The park also allows for direct access to the lakeside beach as well as wildlife observation activities, paddling, swimming, and a boat launch ramp.

Another site to consider parking the Mount Juliet luxury RV rental is the Cedar Creek Campground on Old Hickory Lane. On Old Hickory Lake, this campground has similar amenities to the Seven Point Campground with the addition of a children’s playground.

Explore the City

Mount Juliet may not be the largest city in Tennessee but there’s certainly plenty of delightful places to see when you rent an RV. Visitors can join in the events of the Wilson County Fair during the month of August, or drive to the neighboring city of Gladeville which hosts the GladeFest each September. The event features an antique car show, live music, performances, and displays of local cuisine. There are plenty of dining options available in Mount Juliet’s city center too, but the city’s main attractions are the two lakes that sit on either side of Mount Juliet. These offer a range of boating, paddling, swimming, and water sports activities.

Mount Juliet also boasts excellent outdoors facilities and public parks including the Charlie Daniels Park, complete with a splash zone for kids to play in, Robinson Park, Jones Family Park, Jerry Mundy Memorial Park, and the South Mount Juliet State Park. Shoppers should be pleased, too. The city is home to an array of boutique stores and enticing artisan streets which visitors can spend a morning or afternoon strolling through. Serious shoppers shouldn't miss the chance to visit the Providence Marketplace, one of the largest open-air shopping malls in the state.
