Marysville was settled before Ohio was even a state, belonging instead to the Northwest Territory. The town was officially founded in 1819 by Samuel W. Cuthbertson, and named for his young daughter Mary. The town rapidly began to grow and achieve prominence, and would later be selected as the seat of Union County.

Now this delightful suburb of Columbus, Ohio is one of the hidden gems of the region. Between its antiquated, historic districts and buildings, its lovely park system, its museums, and its proximity to Ohio’s capital, there is an endless number of ways to occupy yourself when you book an RV in Marysville.

If you needed more reasons to rent an RV in Marysville, the town is known for its celebrations and festivities. The Union County Fair, Taste of Marysville, the Farmers Market Festival, the Covered Bridges Festival, and Festifair are just a small sample of the wonderful events the town hosts throughout the year, so be sure to book your trip during one of these events.

The city of Marysville boasts an impressive city park system with over 500 acres of parkland and natural areas. With picnic areas, playscapes, baseball diamonds, and soccer fields, Mill Valley Park is an exciting place to spend sunny summer days. The Jim Simmons Trail runs for miles along the creek for runners, walkers, and cyclist to enjoy. The creek is excellent for fishing as well. Ohio is an epic place to rent an RV, as it is home to some pretty famous parks, forests, and natural sites. Delaware State Park is north of Columbus on Delaware Lake, both of which are named for the Delaware tribe of indigenous people that once lived in the northeast. There is a good deal of activities to be found at the park, but the boating, fishing, and hunting are among the most common. Alum Creek State Park Beach has a gorgeous swimming area coupled with a white sandy beach on the shores of Alum Creek Lake, also north of Columbus. Alum Creek State Park Beach was home to ancient civilizations of Adeana indigenous people and was an integral part of the Underground Railroad that helped slaves from the south escape to the north. You can swim, fish, boat, snowmobile, snowshoe, cross country ski, and even camp in your Marysville camper rental when you visit this great beach park.

Wayne National Forest is one of the largest forests in Ohio, and a fabulous place to explore when you rent a motorhome in Marysville. Hundreds of thousands of acres make up this massive sprawling reserve that once consisted of coal beds and lumber harvesting areas. Cuyahoga Valley National Park is one of the newest additions to the national park system. You can find this exquisite natural habitat up near the city of Cleveland, and explore its many rugged canyons and hidden waterfalls when you bring your Marysville motorhome rental there.

Near Chillicothe, Ohio you can find the Hopewell Culture National Historical Park which is known as one of the oldest man-made structures in the United States. The Hopewell culture dates back to over 2,000 years ago, and the remnants of their earthen structures can still be seen to this day.
