When you rent an RV in The Buckeye State, you will be pleasantly surprised by how many nature parks there are. Delaware State Park is just south of Marion, and an ideal place to start your RV tour of Ohio. This amazing park is named for the Delaware indigenous people who had a wide range of influence over the entire Northeast. Delaware Lake is the main attraction in the park, with marinas, dock slips, and no limits to engine horsepower for boats. You can kayak, canoe, fish, or swim along the sandy beaches of the lake or camp at one of the lakefront camping spaces with your Marion RV rental.

Malabar Farm State Park is more of a history-themed park, but it is quite visually appealing in its own right. This old farmland was once owned by a Pulitzer Prize-winning author Louis Bromfield. You can take wagon tours of this large farmland and roll past historic barns, cabins, and other structures built a long time ago. A few fun festivals are held each year in the park, like the Maple Sugaring Festival in March, which celebrates the town’s affinity for maple syrup.

Mohican State Park and Mohican-Memorial State Forest aren’t very far from Marion, giving you another place to travel to when you rent an RV in the city. This scenic forestland was once devastated by mining and logging operations before the state transitioned it back into a public-use area. Now you can enjoy a variety of activities such as swimming, picnicking, hiking, fishing, and mountain biking when you choose to camp in this lovely nature area.

If you are for the ride, Cleveland is about two hours’ drive northeast of Marion, right on the shores of Lake Erie. The best part is that when you visit Cleveland, you can stop at Cuyahoga Valley National Park, the state’s lone national park. It may be one of the smaller national parks, but you wouldn’t know it while walking through the dense forests and riparian habitats of the park. Magnificent canyons and gorges can be seen from dreamy walking paths, and guests can hike to hidden waterfalls on the Cuyahoga River.

There are lots of suitable camping areas close to Marion, so you won’t need to venture too far to find a place to park your Marion luxury motorhome rental. River Bend Family Campground is a seasonal campground open from April to October, with delightful beachfront swimming areas in the pond. There are disc golf courses, volleyball and basketball courts, baseball and football fields, mini golf, and a swimming pool among other things.

Hickory Grove Lake Campground is also a great place to check out while in town, with a nine-acre lake where guests can swim, fish, and kayak. There is also a general store for supplies, a recreation room, an arcade, volleyball courts, laundry facilities, and a snack bar with pizza and ice cream.

Sunbury/Columbus North KOA is a scenic campground with 40 acres of nature trails and spacious camping arrangements. There are fishing spots, places to walk your dog, and a swimming pool.

Marion is more than just a county seat in central Ohio. It is a lovely community graced with an abundance of city parks, shopping and dining areas, historic buildings, and informative museums like the Stengel True Museum or the Wyandot Popcorn Museum. The Popcorn Museum is one of the only of its kind in the world, with a massive collection of popcorn-related antiques. You can tour this fun facility and see popcorn machines from over a century ago, along with circus memorabilia and other fun items. The museum is part of the larger Heritage Hall, a large depository for historical artifacts and photographs and displays featuring the Delaware people, the industrial companies that called Marion home, and the life of President Harding, who resided in Marion for much of his life.

The Harding Memorial and the Harding Presidential Sites are found scattered throughout town, paying homage to the life of one of the nation’s presidents. The memorial is an elegant monument made from marble, in a gorgeous circular structure constructed with Greek columns. The monument is the final resting place of the president and his late wife. The Harding home on the other side of town has a collection of Harding’s items and belongings and was his home back when he was running for office.

Marion Palace Theatre is a breathtaking addition to the town’s array of attractions, with stunning architectural style and magnificent attention to detail. This gorgeous theater is a wonderful place to catch a movie, watch a musical, or see musicians or bands perform live in an acoustically pleasing space.
