Cruising along I-85 north out of Atlanta, just before you reach the border of South Carolina you will hit Lavonia. It is located in two counties: Franklin and Hart. When you book an RV in Lavonia, you will be in such beautiful, picturesque natural wonders, and so close to the edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains that you could spend a week, two, or even more exploring all this beautiful country has to offer.

Just to the northwest is the Chattahoochee National Forest near Helen and Blue Ridge. To the north of that, heading into North Carolina is the Nantahala National Forest where you can find Franklin, Cherokee, and Murphy. If you feel like taking that motorhome rental from Lavonia even a bit farther north, you can visit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

The Great Outdoors

You’re certainly not going to have a shortage of things to explore and do in this gorgeous region of the country. One of the nearby nature sites to consider is the Tugaloo State Park located right in Lavonia. It’s a great break destination for residents of Atlanta and offers incredible views and a gorgeous lake. It offers plenty of pads, including pull-through sites and lakefront access. They have water and electric hookups, and the sites are well-maintained and level. You can even enjoy some fishing at the lake.

Oconee Point COE doesn’t offer sewer hookup, though they do have water and electric hookups. They have pull-through sites and big rig access. Some of the sites do face the lake and offer nice views.

Over in Fair Play, South Carolina, you can check out the Carolina Landing RV Resort. It is a large RV park with full hookup service, including 30 and 50 amp electric. They have restrooms and showers as well as a rec room and a pool.

Exploring the City

Because you will be close to the border with South Carolina, there are visitor centers to check out.
