Originally established in 1871 in the Hocking Valley of Ohio, Laurelville is a pleasant little village that has remained small for the last century and a half. This rural hamlet was founded John Albin, W.S Albin, and Solomon Reigel, and is named after the laurel that grows in abundance nearby.

When you book an RV in Laurelville, you can see firsthand what it is like to visit a piece of living history, true to its origins back in the 19th century. A smattering of state parks and national forest can be found on the outskirts of town, adding to its allure. It helps that Laurelville is less than a half an hour's drive from the state capital Columbus, and a few hours from larger cities like Cleveland. When you rent an RV in this vibrant town, you will hardly believe how much fun there is to be had.

The Great Outdoors

You’ll find plenty of options for outdoor recreation when you pick up your Laurelville motorhome rental and take it for a tour of The Buckeye State’s fantastic public parks. Made from 330 million years of geological activity, this rocky, rugged, beautiful state park is full of cave systems you can explore, and sheer rock faces that are ideal for climbing and repelling. Hunting, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, archery, and swimming at the foot of waterfalls are all permissible activities in the park, so you will be thoroughly entertained during your visit. Guests even have the option to camp out in the park, so you can make good use of your Laurelville campervan rental.

This lovely nature park is one of the country’s newest additions, as well as one of its smallest national parks. You can get your fill of hiking, swimming, and exploring in this riverfront recreation area, with lush riparian habitats and heavily wooded forests. The facility was established to protect and preserve the incredible earthen mounds designed and erected by the Hopewell Culture thousands of years ago. These massive ceremonial structures provide tons of insight into the lives of the native cultures in Ohio, and thousands of artifacts, weapons, tools, pieces of jewelry, and other objects have been found in the area, all of which are on display in the museum.
