The beautiful Floridian city of LaBelle is situated near the western coast of Florida near Fort Myers and the Caloosahatchee River. It is believed to have been named after the daughters of Francis Asbury Hendry (a founding citizen) who were known as Laura June and Carrie Belle. During its early development, it was once part of an effort to drain the Everglades in order for farmers to have adequate land. It eventually turned into an important trapping and cattle ranch area.

The city is home to many historic attractions you may visit with your RV rental, as well as plenty of outdoor destinations making it perfect for those who want a unique mixture of things to do on their trip. If you visit during the winter, attend its famous Swamp Cabbage Festival which celebrates this plant that is found throughout the city. While often sunny, LaBelle is very humid due to its subtropical climate.

The coastal city of Sanibel is a little over an hour to the southwest. Lake Harbor may be found along Lake Okeechobee, less than 45 minutes to the east.
