The town of La Salle lies on the southern edge of the Greeley metropolitan area, near Colorado’s northern border. For much of its history, La Salle has been known for its farming and ranching, with sugar beets being the primary crop. However, in more recent years the Greeley and Fort Collins region have become known for their high tech industries, with many companies recruiting some of the country’s top engineers with the area’s lower cost of living and amazing scenery.

When you book an RV in La Salle you’ll be in a great location, neither far from the mountains or the attractions of the city. It should be noted though, that if you rent an RV here and want to drive into Denver, it’s best to utilize public transportation whenever possible. The city’s popularity has led to some traffic jams that would be very difficult to navigate with a large RV. Instead, head over to the nearby town of Loveland and take the bus into the city.

The Great Outdoors

Everyone visiting this part of Colorado will want to make a trip out to Rocky Mountain National Park, which is only a short drive from LaSalle. It’s one of the most popular parks in the national park system and it’s not hard to see why – it has something for everyone. For those looking for a scenic drive, Trail Ridge Road provides some of the best views of the park from the highest elevation roadway in the national park system. Visitors that want to step out of the car and get some mud on their boots will enjoy climbing a few thousand feet up Mount Ida for some fantastic above-tree-line vistas.

Getting outside in Colorado is about more than just mountains though; over half the state is covered in grasslands. To explore this ecosystem, head to the Pawnee National Grasslands north of La Salle. Here you’ll be greeted by a vast expanse of amber-hued grass waving in the wind, waiting to be explored on foot or by bicycle, which can be rented in nearby Greeley.

If you’re just looking for a quick stroll without needing to travel too far, the Poudre River Trail is an excellent choice. A paved trail skirts the waterway and provides unobstructed views of the surrounding landscapes. It’s an ideal location for bird watching too, with many visitors reporting eagle sightings.
