Part of the Boise metropolitan area, the city of Kuna is one of the fastest growing cities in all of Idaho, starting as a little railroad town and exploding into the remarkable destination that it is today. First thing’s first, however, be sure you pronounce the name of the city correctly; it may look like “Koo-nah” but is pronounced “Kyu-nah.” Once you’ve got that all figured out, you can rent an RV and explore the ever-changing city that is Kuna.

When you book an RV in Kuna, you’re opening up a wondrous world just waiting to be discovered. Idaho’s rugged terrain consists of mountains, forests, rivers, and bizarre geologic formations that will make you feel like you’ve been transported to the far reaches of the globe. Your time spent in Kuna and Ada County will be filled with not only variety but memories.

Discover Kuna

The Great Outdoors

If you have any interest in the large birds of prey that descended from the once powerful dinosaurs of the Mesozoic, then spend the day at the Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area. Just south of Kuna, this nature preserve is home to roughly 800 nesting raptors. While the public cannot access the entire park, you can still hike along the trails and see a good share of the reserve. Be sure to keep your eyes skyward and maybe you’ll see some of these magnificent creatures. With 10 different species often seen in the park, maybe you’ll see an enormous and rare golden eagle.

About 160 miles to the northeast of Kuna is the fairytale land of Sawtooth National Forest. Right in the middle of Idaho, here you can hike on the countless trails that cut through the park. You’ll be absolutely floored by the impressive mountain views and the cavernous valleys filled with sapphire lakes. If you have experience climbing, you can work your way up some of these stunning geologic formations and be rewarded by an unforgettable view of the Sawtooth Range or Boulder Range. If you’d rather enjoy an activity a little less taxing on the body, or maybe you just want to relax into your surroundings, unwind by the shores of one of the many lakes you can find throughout the park.

If you’re willing to jump state lines into Oregon, then drive the Kuna RV rental four hours to the west to Steens Mountain. This preserve is a great escape if you want total solitude. You can hike along the foothills of the impressive mountains or even hike up some of the more gradual inclines. There are plenty of marked trails you can explore as you enjoy this atypical Oregon like landscape.
