There are numerous towns in the West with interesting names. Hurricane, Utah is one of them. Hurricane was settled in 1896 and when one of the first settlers here was traveling, a major windstorm whipped off the top of his buggy. It was at that moment he remarked, “That was a hurricane. We’ll name this Hurricane Hill.”

When you book an RV in Hurricane, you will be so close to numerous national parks, including Zion National Park, Grand Canyon National Park, and even Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument. You’ll also be right next to Red Cliffs National Conservation Area and a few hours from Las Vegas as well as the Hoover Dam. The open road awaits when you rent a motorhome in Hurricane.

The Great Outdoors

Aside from these national parks, where you would most likely have a wonderful time when you rent an RV, you might also want to check out Sand Hollow State Park right in Hurricane. If you enjoy four-wheelers and ATVs, this is a great stop. You don’t need to tow your own behind your Hurricane motorhome rental. You can rent ATVs here and ride around the sand dunes. It sits on a reservoir and you can enjoy some water recreation activities as well. You don’t have to worry about bringing along water toys, either, because you can rent them here, too.

Quail Creek State Park is a mountain lake where you can do some kayaking or even paddle boarding. There are some shallow areas here for swimming and the water is incredibly refreshing, especially during those hot summer days. You can also rest in your camper rental in Hurricane. Here, you’ll also enjoy a wonderful view of Pine Mountain.

The Hurricane Cliffs Trail System is exceptional if you enjoy some amazing scenery, something that might inspire another visit to the Grand Canyon or even Bryce Canyon. Following these trail systems can be somewhat challenging, but there are short and easy sections for those who are not as technical or don’t have the physical stamina.

RV Parks

As with many places in the West, you won’t have a problem finding RV parks. The key is finding those that are close when you choose an RV rental in Hurricane, Utah. Quail Creek State Park has RV sites, but they don’t offer any hookups. It does offer waterfront access at the lake. There are pull-thru sites, and they do allow tents and pets, and it’s only a short drive from I-15. You can get water from some spigots if you need to, but this is a good stopover if you’re passing through or for those who enjoy a more primitive camping experience..

WillowWind RV Park is another option for your Hurricane camper rental within the city limits. The sites here have full hookups and there’s an abundance of amenities. For convenience there’s laundry, restrooms, and showers. For a little fun, there’s a BBQ picnic area and a pool table as well as cable TV and Wi-Fi. You’ll also enjoy the scenery here since the park is set among the famous Utah red rocks.

Also in Hurricane, you’ll find the Zion Gate RV Resort. It’s a small park with level concrete or gravel pads. They also have picnic tables and full hookups with 30 and 50 amp electric. It’s kid friendly and pets are allowed. Staying here allows you to be centrally located to both Zion National Park and Sand Hollow State Park.

Exploring the City

In Hurricane, much of the focus involves the incredible scenery and amazing parks that surround it. However, there are plenty of great things to enjoy around the area. Head to a local antique or consignment store where you just might find that unique treasure you’ve been looking for. The Hurricane Valley Pioneer Museum offers some rich insight into the history of the town. It’s an old-fashioned museum with a room full of Native American artifacts that were all collected by one individual after he retired.

Jacob’s Ranch is not too far away in Virgin. If you love horses, this is a place you’ll definitely want to put on your list. You can do some horseback riding through creeks, around trail beds, and learn a great deal about the very horses you will see. You’ll learn how to take care of the animal, saddle it, and bond with it before heading out for your afternoon of fun. Your adventure starts right away with an RV rental in Hurricane.
