Hitchcock, Texas, is town located in Galveston County in southeastern Texas. Galveston County also contains the cities of Galveston and Galveston Island. Hitchcock isn’t actually on the coast, but it’s only about a ten-minute drive to the ocean. The town also features tributaries that run into the ocean. Hitchcock has a history as a town where one can connect to other towns. The town was originally founded in 1873 as a railroad station between Galveston and Houston. After the vegetable shipping industry began to die down, Hitchcock was revived as the home of Hitchcock Naval Air Station in the early days of World War II.
