The small town of Henderson is located in Shiawassee County, Michigan. The town got its name from John Henderson, the first man to build a store on the land that the town sits on today, back in 1868. A small hotel opened soon after in 1875, and it was around this time that the town became known as Hendersonville.

Located in central Michigan, this city makes a great base for exploring the nearby surroundings. Both Lake Huron and Lake Michigan are within driving distance, offering a huge range of attractions and activities themselves. The nearest bigger towns are Flint, Saginaw, and Lansing, with the bustling urban landscape of Detroit just under a 2-hour drive away.
