Henderson is an unincorporated community in Adams County, Carolina. It is the site of a post office also named Henderson that was established in 1894 and the Adams County Regional Park and Fairgrounds. Henderson was formerly a ranch and agrarian community; numerous past visitors, including novelist James Michener, decried the area. Other earlier explorers called it “the Great American Desert” but its founder, Jack Henderson, was able to irrigate the land by diverting water from the South Platte River; the area's rich soil did the rest.

Fort Lupton city is also the site of Fort Lupton the historical landmark, both of which were named after Lawrence Lupton.
