Elverta is a census-designated community in Sacramento County, California, and shares a zip code with several other communities in Sacramento, Placer, and Sutter Counties. It is unincorporated and was originally part of a Mexican land grant that was subdivided in 1912. The community is relatively flat with very few hills, making walking around town as easy as it could be for residents. It also has exactly two stop lights. Elverta Dike was the wife of a man who donated land to the church and the community was named after her in gratitude.

RV rentals in Sacramento County are plentiful and wide-ranging, allowing travelers to choose a make and model that perfectly matches their needs. There are some other towns and cities that are worth spending some time exploring. Pleasant Grove was originally known by locals as “Gouge Eye”, after a criminal spread rumors about the general store owner that anyone shopping at the general store would be “gouge eyed”. The origin of Roseville's name is unknown but the reference first appeared in a local newspaper in 1864, citing the community as “Roseville Junction”, which was later changed to “Roseville” upon incorporation in 1909. Elk Grove takes its name from the Elk Grove Stage Shop (from around 1850) but the town didn't actually come into existence until the arrival of the railroad in 1868. Davis was originally known as Davisville until it was chosen as the site of a new university and the Davisville Enterprise (which had engineered its selection as a university town) changed its name to the Davis Enterprise and began to refer to and popularize the town's name as Davis. Woodland was originally a heavily wooded area of oak tree stands; the first post office was named Woodland after the trees that were still in abundance and the town later took the post office's name too. Your Elverta RV trailer rental is your invitation to explore the history of this area.

The Great Outdoors

Fremont Weir State Wildlife Area is a floodway that allows water from the Sacramento River to spill over into the Yolo Bypass (when the Sacramento River rises and becomes too high). The area's plant life and vegetation consist of valley oaks, willows and cottonwood trees, brush, and tall weeds. The area is designated for fishing and hunting pheasant, quail, and waterfowl amongst other bird species, but visitors should watch carefully for signs of flooding, especially after heavy rains.

Maidu Regional Park is an urban developed recreation area with sports facilities for basketball, baseball, soccer, and more, as well as a community center and library. Keep your Elverta camper rental nearby and you can finish your activities with a coffee and homemade lunch only steps away.

Wake Island Waterpark is a unique urban recreational area with an aqua park (i.e. a floating playground) where guests must conquer obstacles in order to make it to the end. The park also incorporates wakeboarding by replacing boats with cables that pull the participants along and around the lake. There is an overhead zip line, an area for relaxing and sun worshipping, a beach for swimming, and more.

Exploring The City

Another concerns itself with art and yet another focuses on the California State Legislature. There are several golf courses where enthusiasts can take hiking and walking to a whole new level, and sports facilities, live theaters, and much more. California is and always has been an oasis of highways, so make sure to take your Elverta motorhome rental for a spin and tear up some road (that's what RV's are for, after all).
