Designated a “Big Bass Lake” by the Pennsylvania Fish Commission, the lake is stocked with largemouth bass, pike, muskie, and stripers, a true fisherman's dream! One of the largest parks in south-central Pennsylvania, this park offers plenty of opportunities for recreational fun, such as primitive camping, hiking, horseback riding, bicycling, and snowmobiling. There are over 130 miles of trails in this park alone. RV camping is allowed, though you must obtain a free permit from the ranger.

The Heritage Rail Trail, 21 miles long, runs from the Mason-Dixon line (MD-PA border) to York. Enjoy the scenery and historic structures along the way while hiking, biking, and horseback riding. Note: portions of the trail shares path with active railroad tracks; exercise extreme caution at those junctures.
