Boca Grande, a small community, on Gasparilla Island, is located in southwestern Florida. Spanish for “big mouth," Boca Grande was once an important shipping post during the 1800s and more recently as a filming location for many movies.

Boca Grande is known for its lively downtown, beaches, and fishing piers. In fact, it’s one of the top places in the United States to fish for Tarpon. While a peaceful retreat, its climate tends to be very hot and humid, especially during the summer.

Punta Gorda lies a little over 30 miles to the northeast. South Venice is around 45 minutes to the north.
