If you’re in town around June, you’ll absolutely want to check out the local favorite festival, Sauerkraut Days. This non-competitive event that is most commonly held in late July and draws upwards of 10,000 registered riders. The event course changes every year, but in the past, it has started and ended in Dubuque, Council Bluffs, and more.

During RAGBRAI and other major events, the most convenient places in town to fuel up and find restaurants are at the junction of Sherman Ave and Franklin St. Don’t be afraid to explore these two streets for local restaurants and shops in your spare time.
