Between Anaheim and Los Angeles sits the town of Whittier, California. It is part of a series of cities that make up what is commonly referred to as the ‘Gateway Cities’. It was first incorporated in 1898 and became a city officially in 1955. Once the first railroad was established through Whittier in 1887, the city began to blossom and bloom. There are numerous colleges in and around the area and being close to a major fault line, earthquakes can be felt from time to time. The city’s historic buildings were significantly damaged on October 1, 1987 by a 5.9 earthquake, followed three days later by a major aftershock that measured 5.2 on the Richter scale.

When you search for an RV in Whittier, you will be so close to Los Angeles, Anaheim, the Pacific Ocean, as well as the Sierra Nevada mountains so you may want to spend more than a week or two traveling around in that motorhome rental. To the east you’ll find Chino Hills State Park outside of Yorba Linda. A bit further south east you can visit Ronald W. Caspers Wilderness Park near Lake Elsinore, offering some amazing drives and breathtaking views. Near Laguna Beach, you can check out Crystal Cove State Park as well.
