There’s no shortage of fun, outdoorsy attractions to check out with your RV rental in Victorville. If you drive a little ways off into the desert to the north, for instance, you’ll find a unique little piece of roadside America called the Victorville Rock Faces. Consisting of several oval human faces and a cat face carved into huge desert boulders, these faces stand as surreal figures against the desert brush. Be aware, though, these boulders are a bit off the beaten path. You’ll have to go down a few dirt roads to get there, and be sure to pack plenty of water in your Victorville rental RV!

There are quite a few local parks in and around Victorville, as well. Rockview Nature Park, for instance, offers an outdoor amphitheater and campfire area, as well as a gazebo and play equipment for children. The Mojave River runs through this lush region, providing water for the meadows and cottonwood and willow stands, as well as the over 1,500 species of wildlife that call this park home. This park also offers over 300 miles of Big Sur hiking trails.

There are a few lovely parks within the city itself to set up as home base for your Victorville RV rental. If you’re looking for a more outdoorsy experience, on the other hand, the Mojave Narrows Regional Park Campground is a great option if you’d still like to stay within city limits. And of course, if you’re just itching for a good lungful of fresh air, the Angeles and Los Padres National Forests are both flush with fantastic campgrounds.

Although Victorville was only officially incorporated as a California city in 1962, it’s nevertheless an area with a truly rich and storied past. Back in 1940, for instance, Herman Mankiewicz and John Houseman wrote the first two drafts of the script for Citizen Kane at the Green Spot Motel, a building still in operation today. There were also a number of movies filmed at least partly in Victorville, including The Hills Have Eyes; Kill Bill: Volume 2; Lethal Weapon; and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.

Over in Old Victorville, you’ll also find a bunch of antique shops, as well as an entire museum devoted to the historic Route 66 (which, as it happens, runs right through the city). There’s no shortage of things to do in Victor Valley, especially if you come at the right time of year. Every spring the city hosts the San Bernardino County Fair, which has everything from livestock competitions and rodeos to carnival rides and celebrity concerts. The rest of the year, the fairgrounds are given over to other events, like the Annual High Desert Spring and Fall Home Shows and the Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular.
