Just east of the world-renowned San Francisco, the city of Antioch prides itself on its gorgeous central California climate and waterfront living. One of the oldest cities in all of California, Antioch was founded in 1848 when a local ranch owner built a shipping landing for his ranch. Once coal and copper were discovered nearby, the area boomed into what would become present-day Antioch.
