Are you looking for a coastal getaway with minimal crowds (well, except in the summer)? Head out to Long Beach, WA and enjoy the windswept peninsula. Proudly nicknamed the “World’s Longest Beach,” the shores stretch 28-miles from the mouth of the Columbia River to the oyster-rich Willapa Bay. Though not the world’s actual longest beach, it is, however, the world’s longest continuous peninsula beach. It is also technically a Washington State highway with a speed limit of 25 mph.

Consider booking a luxury rental RV in Long Beach if you yearn for a classic beach town atmosphere while still gaining reasonable access to both Portland and Seattle. You’ll find sand in your pockets for months after, but it’ll just be a happy reminder of this spectacular trip!

Discover Long Beach

The Great Outdoors

When you park your Long Beach motorhome rental, you will have the opportunity to visit the beach, more than once might we add. Arrive early to claim your beach real estate and pack all things you might need for the day: sunscreen, toys and games, swimsuits, an umbrella, some chairs, etc.

If you happen to be in Long Beach during the third week in August, the city hosts Washington’s weeklong International Kite Festival. Explore the boardwalks and other walking paths along the way to experience the scenery and wildlife not directly located on the beach.

A short 5-mile drive to Ilwaco will land you at Cape Disappointment State Park. Despite its name, this park is no disappointment at all! Explore the lighthouse, watch as waves topple over each other where the Pacific Ocean meets the Columbia River, and hike through old forest growths or around other nearby lakes, marshes, and tidelands. Get a sense of how this beach area came to be and what initiatives are in place to maintain it.

If you’re craving to get out on the deep waters, check out local sport fishing tour companies. Captains and crews are ready to show you the ropes. Charter the seas and locate the best areas to collect your bounty. Learn all about the equipment needed, how to maneuver the vessel, and, most importantly, all about the fish from casting the line to processing.

Stay right in Long Beach at Andersen’s RV Park. Boasting the reputation of being the only RV park on the Washington coast to provide full hookup RV sites this close to the ocean, Andersen’s is a great choice for those who want to be as close to the beach as possible. Andersen’s offers shower and bathroom facilities, picnic areas, children’s playground, fire pits, a small store with necessities, and WiFi. Gather the family and watch the sun dip behind the water as colors melt together in the sky.

Another prospective choice for those who want easy access to the beach, boardwalk, and other local attractions, but don’t need to be in the middle of it all is SandCastle RV Park. All sites at this park feature full hookups for your RV, picnic tables, grassy areas for lawn games, and hot showers.
