Auburn, Washington, a spectacular city between Tacoma and Seattle, has the motto “More than you imagined”, and this could not be more accurate. Even with the promise of sophistication, rich culture, and surreal beauty in the state of Washington, Auburn goes above and beyond all expectations, delivering a once in a lifetime experience when you rent an RV and take an extended vacation.

Even if you were to spend the entirety of your time in Auburn, you would still have a blast; tucked away between the Green and White Rivers, this fertile valley was home to one of the very first settlements in the Pacific Northwest, and once you see it for yourself, you will understand why. This historic epicenter is naturally beautiful and ideally situated in one of the world’s best metropolitan areas. It is just as easy to take the Sounder commuter train to downtown Seattle as it is to head to one of the stunning nearby national parks or mountains, like the incredible Mount Rainier that provides a picturesque backdrop when you book an RV in Auburn, Washington.

The Great Outdoors

It is widely known that the Pacific Northwest is a tantalizing outdoor mecca that attracts millions of visitors a year. The rainforests of western Washington, the Puget Sound, the many stratovolcanoes, and the winding coastline all contribute to the diverse and beautiful collection of natural beauty that is prevalent in the area.

Auburn is a suburb of Seattle, and thus has all the hallmarks of both a big town and a small city. Fortunately, the city government has made the creation and upkeep of exquisite city parks a priority, as evident from the 34 developed parks, 387 acres of recreation area, and over 26 miles of walking and biking trails.

Once you exit the city in your Auburn camper rental, the real magic begins. Just to the south on the outskirts of town, Lake Tapps County Park awaits you with its inviting sandy beaches on the shores of Lake Tapps. This is ideal for those that don’t want to venture far from the comforts of Auburn but hope to have a beach day or two. You can barbecue on the beach or go for a dip. You can also go hiking on the many trails on the property or take a boat ride on the beautiful lake.

Tiger Mountain State Forest is just a short drive up route WA-18 in your Auburn rental RV and is nearly 14,000 acres of temperate rainforest surrounding Tiger Mountain. Tiger Mountain is a 3,000-foot-tall peak that can be reached on foot, or by horseback. This hike is a wonderful place to take your dog and see some amazing views of the surrounding area.

If you take the Auburn motorhome rental out past Olympia, Washington, to the other side of the Puget Sound, you can visit the heavenly Olympic National Forest and Olympic National Park. Olympic National Forest is a collection of rainforest and wilderness areas surrounding the Olympic Mountain range. Olympic National Park is among the country’s most prized possessions, with a crazy clash of ecosystems that is rarely seen anywhere else: divine subalpine meadows decorated with wildflowers of every color, exquisite temperate rainforests, and extraordinary rocky coastlines. Between these three diverse ecosystems, you can truly see it all.

Don’t forget to stop by Mount Rainier National Park when you rent an RV in Auburn. Mount Rainier comes in at staggering 14,410 feet tall and is surrounded by ancient glaciers and 369 square miles of breathtaking old growth forest.

City Attractions

Lost in all the excited natural sights and beauty, the city of Auburn has lots to do and see for travelers visiting the area. Auburn has a little something for everybody, like the famous White River Amphitheater. The beautiful music venue was built by the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe, and seats up to 16,000 people for the summertime concerts it hosts. The Muckleshoot Casino is also a big draw, and has lots of gaming tables, restaurants, and entertainment options as well.

The Pacific Bonsai Museum is a wonderful place to spend a day, and features many exhibits displaying the ancient Japanese art of Bonsai, where trees are influenced and trained to grow in beautiful fashions. The White River Museum, on the other hand, does its very best to honor the diverse local history, and features many photographs and artifacts on permanent display. The Neely Mansion is on the National Register of Historic Places and serves as a museum as well. The beautiful Victorian-style residence was built in the late 1800s and has been preserved to showcase the architecture and the historical significance the home has to the area.

Finally, the Emerald Downs is a large racing track that hosts many horse and dog races. The racetrack also features its own casino floor, so gaming is an option, too.

RV Friendly

When you book an RV rental in Auburn, it will become apparent that there are many places to stay. Game Farm Wilderness Park is run by the city and is located right on the White River. Here you can find campsites, lovely walking and biking trails, warm inviting meadows, freshwater fishing, and an 18-hole disc golf course, among other things.

The Seattle/Tacoma KOA will have you in prime position to visit the attractions of Seattle. Just minutes from downtown Seattle, you can visit the famous Pike Place Market or the Space Needle. Don’t forget to take your Auburn luxury RV rental to one of the many national parks or forests, like Mount Rainier National Park and enjoy the amazing recreational vehicle campgrounds they have to offer.
