Discover Eden

The Great Outdoors

There’s no shortage of outdoor fun to be had around Ogden Valley. For the experienced hiker in the mood for a real challenge, there’s North Skyline Trail, just 10 minutes from Eden. Possibly the most challenging trail in the whole valley, this 11.4-mile long trek sees a rise in elevation from 6,180 feet to 9,764 feet as you climb to the summit of Ben Lomond and Willard peaks. Up this high, you’ll find magnificent views of the valley below. It doesn’t have to stop up there, either. The Skyline Trail is part of the massive Great Western Trail, which stretches all the way from Arizona to Montana.

Looking for a little more relaxing hike? Well, first of all, you should be sure to check out the South Skyline Trail, which is right across the parking lot from its northern cousin. This is a moderate hike, with a few switchbacks but a ton of positively breathtaking views. And if you’re looking for an even more relaxing hike, just gear up your Eden RV rental for a trip to the North Fork Park Trail. This runs through a park, and also past several stables, campgrounds, and meadows. If you’re coming in the winter, you’ll find it’s extremely popular among cross-country skiers. It’s actually maintained by the Utah Nordic Alliance, and was a nominee for the Nordic and Biathlon events in the 2002 Winter Olympics.

Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge is just 35 miles north of town, in Brigham City. The 80,000-acre refuge provides a 12-mile driving tour around the wetlands. Annually, millions of migrating birds stop here to rest and refuel, feasting on brine shrimp and the marsh’s leafy greens. Over 200 species of birds stop or stay here, from American avocets and colonies of white-faced ibis to tundra swans and cinnamon teals.

Another great spot to take your Eden rental RV is Pineview Reservoir. This will be of particular interest to the fishing enthusiast, since the lake has been known to give up some fantastic catches for the sufficiently determined sportsman. Of particular interest are the reservoir’s trophy-sized tiger muskies, a mix of muskie and northern pike. The Pineview Reservoir is practically teeming with these highly aggressive fish. In fact, the largest tiger muskie ever found in Utah was caught right the in Pineview Reservoir, weighing in at 33 lbs, 9 oz!

If you’re coming during the winter months, taking a trip in your Eden motorhome rental to the nearby Wolf Creek will be well worth your while. It’s home to Wolf Mountain, the largest night skiing area in the entire state. The entire mountain is lit up and ready for use by skiers of all skill levels. About a fifth of the mountain is great terrain for beginner skiers. Roughly half is for advanced skiers only, and another fifth is for intermediates.

In addition to its world-class ski options, Wolf Creek also has a championship 18-hole golf course, along with access to some of the best hiking trails in the area. You can also reserve hot air balloon rides there. This is especially popular during the Ogden Valley Balloon Festival, held each year from August 18-20.

Exploring Eden

Eden is graced with a charming, small-town feel that’s every bit as idyllic as its name suggests. Over in Eden Park, for instance, there’s always something going on. In addition to a full-size horse arena, this area also has three soccer/football fields, a baseball diamond, a new children’s playground, and a large community center.

Just a mile away from the park, meanwhile, you’ll find Carver’s Cove Petting Farm, which is perfect for small children. With hands-on learning opportunities, Carver’s Cove gives kids a chance to really understand how a farm works. They’ve got all your typical farm animals—horses, cows, pigs, goats—as well as more exotic animals, like alpacas and llamas.

If you’re looking to take the Eden RV rental for a trip to a bigger city for a couple days, nearby Ogden is a fantastic destination, especially if you’re coming with children. Kids will love the George S. Eccles Dinosaur Park, which includes over 100 dinosaur replicas, as well as a museum with a boatload of immersive activates. There’s also Fort Buenaventura, which, in addition to offering a number of camping opportunities, is a fully-operational re-creation of local Ogden life in the 1820s, including a fully rebuilt fort!

Parking Your RV

While Eden isn’t really large enough to have an RV park of its own, there’s no shortage of campgrounds in the area that would be more than happy to host your Eden motorhome rental. There’s a whole string of them just a little ways out on UT-39, and there’s also Anderson Cove over in Huntsville, on the other side of the reservoir.

No matter where you hope to stay in Eden, though, there’s no way you’ll regret it. Come and see one of the last little patches of paradise. Rent an RV in Eden today.
