Celeste, Texas is a town located in Hunt County. The town is near the northeastern corner of the state. The city got its start in 1886. Like many of the towns in the area, it was built along a railroad. The site was chosen by the Gulf, Colorado, and Santa Fe Railway because they wanted to avoid a town that was less amenable to their business. As a result, the town was named after the wife of a railway official.

Celeste has a history that is not uncommon among small towns in the South. There were once cotton gins and ice factories throughout the town. Agriculture was a major industry for a long time. Now, many tourists rent an RV in Celeste to visit museums and historical sites from the late 19th century and early 20th century.

The climate of Celeste is humid and subtropical. Winters are mild, and summers are hot. From here you can reach McKinney, Texas in about thirty minutes. Dallas-Fort Worth is about an hour away, and the Oklahoma border is about thirty minutes away. Vacationers who book an RV in Celeste can also extend their trips into Arkansas and Louisiana. Both borders are about two hours away from Celeste.
