It is said that upon arriving in Pennsylvania and seeing the Codorus Valley, 40 families from Germany were inspired to create a settlement. The rolling hills and lush green meadows reminded the German immigrants of their home in the Hunsruck Mountains, so they sought to create a new life in southern Pennsylvania. The German-speaking community of farmers would prosper, especially after the arrival of the railroad that would, from that point on, connect the village to the outside world. After iron ore and other valuable minerals were discovered in the ground, Seven Valleys would continue on its way to becoming one of the thriving industrial towns of southern Pennsylvania.

The town of Seven Valleys has changed quite a bit over the years. No longer the booming city it used to be, only the remnants of a once thriving village now remain. Seven Valleys has now retired and become a sleepy village with a small population, yet its charm and infusion of historical significance still linger. When you book an RV in Seven Valleys, places like Harrisburg and Lancaster are close by, giving you plenty of sightseeing options. You can also bring your Seven Valleys RV rental to any of the incredible state parks and lakeside recreation areas in the region to get the most out of your trip.

Experience the Sites and Scenery

You would be hard pressed to find a better place to rent an RV in all of Pennsylvania than the charming town of Seven Valleys. York County alone is home to several phenomenal parks and recreation areas that are quite popular with people from around the state and country. Codorus State Park is a good place to start your trip and is very close to Seven Valleys. In the heart of Codorus State Park, Lake Marburg is the main attraction. Along this lake, there are miles and miles of coastline peppered with secluded beaches and swimming spots. Fishing and boating are popular ways to utilize the lake, and there are several campgrounds where you can stay for some lakeside camping in your Seven Valleys RV rental by owner. Disc golfers can stay busy moving between the four different disc golf courses on site.

Gifford Pinchot State Park is yet another state park with a lake you visit when you rent an RV in Seven Valleys. The park is appropriately named for a politician that played a huge part in forming the first national forests and parks in the country. The park is full of circuitous hiking trails, day use areas, beaches, and swimming areas. Disc golf and volleyball are commonly enjoyed on the beaches or by the water, and the lake is a peaceful place to catch fish.

If you are fond of learning the ins and outs of local history, Gettysburg National Military Park is a history-centric national park over by Gettysburg, set aside to honor the fallen soldiers of the Battle of Gettysburg. This battle was one of the worst in American history, and the park rangers do a great job of providing tours of the battlefield while describing in detail what happened and how the battle unfolded.

If you still have some time left over, Michaux State Forest is a lovely place to check out with your Seven Valleys camper rental. The forest was once clear cut by logging companies and essentially decimated. Now it has returned to life with gorgeous second-growth forest surrounding several splendid lakes. Part of the famous Appalachian Trail cuts through the park making it a possible through-hiking destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
