Nazareth is centrally located in eastern Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley, close to the cities of Allentown and Easton. It’s quite small but also quite charming, with a number of historic churches, beautiful parklands, and when you book an RV in Nazareth, you’ll have easy access to the rest of eastern Pennsylvania.

One of the more interesting quirks of Nazareth’s history is that the land it now sits on was gifted by William Penn, founder of the original Pennsylvania colony, to his daughter with the stipulation that a board of trustees would be formed for the town and she would need to pay them a single rose if they were to request it. A bizarre tradition for sure, but it led to a present-day celebration on June 10th and 11th when roses are sold all over town.

Another great celebration to catch when you rent an RV here is the Martin on Main Street Festival, which celebrates the town’s most valuable export: the Martin Guitar. Their acoustic guitars are highly prized and have been used by musicians like Eric Clapton. The festival is filled with great musical performances and equally tasty food from local restaurants.

The Great Outdoors

The hills of eastern Pennsylvania are the stuff of legends when it comes to outdoor recreation – just head outside, and you’re sure to find a great trail to hike. But some of the best (and most convenient) can be found at Jacobsburg State Park to the northeast of town. There are flat trails, steep trails, and picturesque paths along Bushkill Creek. Be on the lookout for wildlife too, because there are plenty of deer and songbirds to spot here.

There’s also Nazareth Borough Park, right in the middle of town. It’s not very big, but it does have some nice grassy areas for picnicking, a basketball court, skate park, and sparkling stream running through its center. If you’re in need of a quick place to stretch your legs when you get a travel trailer rental in Nazareth, this is an excellent place to do it.

On a hot day, there’s no better place to cool off than the waterpark outside of Bethlehem. Unlike most parks of its kind, the water here is not a chlorinated pool, but an all-natural pond. There are all sorts of inflatable slides, diving platforms, and even scuba classes to partake in, making this one of the best spots to take the family when you get a motorhome rental in Nazareth.

RV Parks

The Chestnut Lake Campground is one of the closest places to stay when you get a camper rental in Nazareth. The campground is in a beautiful location, nestled deep in a forest, and offers full hookups and easy access to attractions like Pocono Raceway and Hersheypark.

Another option that’s a bit farther away is Jugtown Mountain Campsites in the town of Asbury, NJ, and just off Interstate 78. Not only does it have easy access to the highway for going between Allentown and the surrounding area, but sites have electrical and water hookups, and there’s a large swimming pool and also a dump station on the premises. Its location is perfect for visiting some of the attractions in eastern Pennsylvania, like the Crayola Crayon Factory.

There’s also Driftstone Campground on the Delaware River near the border of New Jersey. Here you’ll find full hookups, laundry facilities, a pool, and showers. They also rent kayaks and canoes to use on the river, making this campground quite popular with paddlers and other outdoor enthusiasts.

Exploring the City

When you rent an RV in Nazareth, PA, you’ll be treated to a town brimming with small-town charm. Antique shops, vineyards, and artisanal dairies line the narrow two-lane roadways opening up the possibility for adventure at every turn.

To learn more about the history of Nazareth, make a stop at the town’s Moravian Historical Society. There’s so much to discover inside the building's thick stone walls, but much of it relates to the interesting story of the Moravian denomination of Christianity, which supported a number of liberal causes like the education of women and the abolishment of slavery, long before it was fashionable.

If you’re interested in old firearms, you’ll also enjoy the Pennsylvania Longrifle Museum. It’s housed inside the historic Henry Homestead and plays host to some of the most famous guns from America’s colonial and frontier eras. Each piece is accompanied by loads of information - be sure to set aside plenty of time for it.

To catch a live performance, hit up the State Theatre Center for the Arts in nearby Easton. They’ve got everything from dramatic stage plays to popular musical acts, so be sure to check their schedule to see if there’s anything that strikes your fancy.
