Goldsboro is a borough in York County, Pennsylvania, but it should not be confused with Gouldsboro, a village in Wayne County. Goldsboro was originally and unofficially referred to as Martinsville after a store owner, Martin P. Burger. The town's name was changed to Goldsboro in 1850 after the completion of a railroad in the community (the civil engineer who designed it was JM Goldsboro). Goldsboro was incorporated as a borough in 1864; however, the U.S. Postal Service recommends addressing mail to “Etters” instead of Goldsboro to prevent any confusion between the borough of Goldsboro and the village of Gouldsboro. Henry Etter was the owner of a tavern, slightly north of where Goldsboro sits today, in which a post office was established in 1838; once Goldsboro was entrenched in 1850, the USPS moved the Etters post office to Goldsboro but insisted that the post office's name not be changed.

Search for an RV in York County, and you will be immersed in a vacation that most people can only dream about. There are other towns that are worth learning about while you are there. Lewistown sent its militia group, the Logan Guards, to Washington, DC during the Civil War to defend the capital; they were one of only five groups that were sent. Selinsgrove holds the world record for the longest banana split (at more than four miles long); the record was set on April 30, 1988. Ephrata is the former seat of the Mystic Order of the Solitary, a semi-monastic group. New Oxford has a large number of antique stores and is a popular destination for antique enthusiasts. Breezewood is located in an area that was once part of a Native American trail; later the trail became a wagon road and then a military trail after that. Your Goldsboro travel trailer rental is your passport to exploring this historical area.
