Originally founded in 1761 by William Addams, Adamstown was originally known as “Addamsburry.” The town was incorporated in 1850. It labels itself the “antique capital of the United States.” That’s because numerous dealers and collectors flock to this town each and every year, seeking out some of their favorite collections. When you book an RV in Adamstown, you will also be in the heart of some incredible history and not too far away from Gettysburg and Philadelphia.

Not too far away from Adamstown is French Creek State Park near St. Peters and Pottstown. You can also head closer to Philadelphia and visit Valley Forge National Historical Park near King of Prussia. That is the location where George Washington and his troops hunkered down in the harsh winter of 1777 and 1778 during the Revolutionary War. Oak Creek Campground is not too far away and is a larger RV park. They have full hookup service, including 30 and 50 amp electric. You can fill up on propane and enjoy a camp store, do your laundry, and enjoy a nice hot shower. During the peak months, space can be limited, so it’s highly recommended that you make reservations.

Red Run Campground is located in New Holland and does not offer full hookup service, but they do have electric and water hookups. They also have restrooms and showers. If you need to do some laundry, they can certainly accommodate that too. There is a camp store on-site, and there are some major retail stores not too far away.

You may be able to find a Walmart Supercenter or two in the area where you may be able to park the Adamstown camper rental for a night or two. It's best to call ahead to confirm availability with store management prior to your stay.

Because Adamstown is considered the main hub of antiquing in the United States, you are going to find plenty of antique shops and little plazas all around the area. The Ephrata Cloister is an interesting historical landmark that is one of the earliest religious communities established in the New Colonies.
