The tiny village of Wheeler, Oregon is on the stunning coast of the Pacific Ocean, with self-proclaimed “million-dollar views.” Gone are the days where Wheeler was just another industrial hub with timber mills and fish packing plants. Since the industries left town decades ago, Wheeler has returned to its sleepy, lovely roots.

When you book an RV in Wheeler, you’ll fall in love with the town’s vibes, as well as one of the most naturally beautiful parts of an already outrageously divine state. The tight-knit community of a few hundred people is located at the mouth of the Nehalem River on the Nehalem Bay, just minutes from the Pacific Ocean. The city of Portland is less than two hours' drive away, and many of the state’s best beaches and state parks are quite close to town, making for an excellent place to rent an RV.

If you head east through Portland to the other side of Oregon’s largest metropolitan area, Mount Hood National Forest is sure to impress you. The forest is named for its most prominent feature, Mount Hood, a massive stratovolcano over 11,000 feet tall. You can hike up to the peak of this prominent giant, but most people settle for pleasant strolls through subalpine meadows teeming with wildflowers of every conceivable color. When you see this majestic forest, it will become obvious to you why millions of people visit it each year.
