Forest Grove, Oregon is a moderately-sized town, located in the western half of the state. It is situated less than 30 miles west of Portland the nearest large city. The town is also less than 60 miles east of the Pacific Coast. The area was named for a local grove of oak trees that can still be found on the campus of the nearby university. Truck stops are available within 35 miles of town, that provide showers. Please check with the managers of any of these locations for permission before camping overnight.
