Centered around the mouth of the Portage River on Lake Erie, Port Clinton, Ohio is a spellbinding little coastal city with countless reasons to visit. The town was established in 1828 and named for DeWitt Clinton, a former governor of New York who lobbied for the construction of the Erie Canal which would become crucial to towns on the Great Lakes.
