Looking for an idyllic, lakefront community on the shores of Lake Erie where you can spend your next vacation? Huron, Ohio might be the place for you. When you search for an RV in Huron, you open a whole world of possibilities with regard to where you can go and what you can see during your travels. French-Canadian fur trappers first settled Huron in the early 19th century, where it slowly evolved into a full-fledged community. The town capitalized on its strategic location, with railways and shipbuilding ports on the lake, making it an industrial powerhouse for most of its history.

This community of several thousand people swells in the summertime, due to its gorgeous views of Lake Erie and enormous potential for all sorts of vacation-time fun. Glorious nature parks, sandy beaches, thrilling attractions, and historic districts all account for part of the fun when you rent an RV in Huron with the intention of learning new things and exploring the wonders of northern Ohio. Both Cleveland and Toledo are well within driving distance, and other cities like Columbus and Akron are quite easy to reach as too.

The Great Outdoors

The northern coasts of Ohio along Lake Erie are jam-packed with exciting parks and recreation areas worthy of your attention, but finding the right fit for you is part of the fun. Osborn Recreation Area is close to town, once home to a prison farm for convicted felons. Now this lush oasis sits in the middle of an urbanized area, with diverse habitats teeming with wildlife. There are soccer fields, playgrounds, dog parks, trail systems, a disc golf course, and picnic shelters contained within this lovely little metro park.

You can bring your Huron camper rental to the Marblehead Peninsula to the northwest to truly dive into the core of Vacationland and see what all the fuss is about. East Harbor State Park is by the water’s edge where you can bask in divine views of Lake Erie, and camp out in your Huron RV rental while you cool off with a gentle breeze rolling over the water. There is a marina with slip spaces and docks where boats can be moored, scenic beaches, hiking trails, and a disc golf course too. Kelleys Island State Park can be reached by taking a boat from Marblehead to Kelleys Island, a fantastic little island covered in vegetation and eco-habitats. There are tranquil hiking trails and camping sites by the water so your Huron motorhome rental will feel right at home overlooking the lake.

Feel like heading out towards Cleveland on your grand tour of Ohio? You can drop in for a visit to Cuyahoga Valley National Park, a splendid forest packed with sublime geological formations, majestic waterfalls, trickling streams, and biodiverse riparian habitats. Hike through dense mystical groves, and through rocky gorges to fully explore Cuyahoga Valley, and make use of your Huron camper rental by camping at one of the park’s many camping sites.

RV Parks
