Englewood is a mid-sized borough of the city of Dayton. The origin of Englewood is reasonably typical and gives an excellent example of quaint, pre-industrial America. Founded by a group of travelers from Harrisburg, Ohio, the town was initially named Harrisburg. Englewood was renamed via a competition held at the beginning of the 20th century.

The town's proximity to Stillwater River is what enticed early settlers to stay in the area, and agricultural farming was common, with many goods being shipped up the river. Now with its proximity to Dayton and surrounding natural beauty, Englewood is the ideal place to rent an RV.

Discover Englewood

The Great Outdoors

You won't have to travel far to experience some of the great outdoors when you rent an RV in Englewood, with East Park within the city limits. There are lots of things to discover at this park, including three beautiful waterfalls, each with unique features. Martindale Falls cascades into a rocky ravine surrounded by a gorgeous limestone ridge. There's also Big Blue, a giant blue ash tree which is a few hundred years old.

East Park is one of a few metro parks surrounding Dayton, and another one to visit is Taylorsville Metropark. This park is great if you enjoy a hiking or mountain biking, with over eight miles of dedicated trails. This wooded park has plenty of history too, with the ruins of the village of Tadmor within the park. The village was an important center for trade in early Ohio, and its ruins are now ideal for learning how people lived in the 19th century. These metro parks are full of exciting things to see and do, and they make a trip with an RV rental from Englewood extra special.

If the metro parks aren't far enough outside of the city for you and you're looking for something more peaceful, then you might consider a visit to Caesar Creek State Park near Waynesville. Visitors can partake in many activities, including a visit to the nature and visitor center to learn more about the park. Other favorite activities include kayaking on the Little Miami River and, for the more adventurous, zip lining.

RV Parks

With a big city like Dayton next door, there's no shortage of places to park when you rent an RV in Englewood. One option is Arrowhead Campground in nearby Greenville. This campground has over 100 all-weather campsites complete with full hookups that have 30 and 50 amp service. This campground accommodates big rigs with spacious, pull-through sites which offer plenty of room for slide-outs. There are plenty of on-site amenities, including laundry facilities and showers, as well as recreational activities like horseshoes and a swimming pool.

If this campground isn't suitable and you'd prefer a place with a lakeside view, then consider stopping off at Enon Beach Campground when you rent a motorhome in Englewood. A similar size to Arrowhead, Enon Beach offers just over 100 paved campsites complete with full hookups and 30 and 50 amp service. There are also sites which have space for slide-outs, and campsites with pull-through access, ideal for big rigs. Amenities include laundry facilities and restrooms, and recreational activities include watersports on the nearby lake.
