Hainesport is a township in New Jersey located a short drive from the border with Pennsylvania. The city of Philadelphia is about 40 minutes’ drive from Hainesport, and New York and Atlantic City are both less than a two-hour drive away. Hainesport Township was founded in 1924, from portions of Lumberton Township. The township was named after Barclay Haines. He was the owner of the property in the area and established a wharf near his home on the Rancocas Creek. In 1778, the area where the town was later settled was the site of a skirmish during the American Revolutionary War. The Great Outdoors

Rancocas State Park is located in Hainesport Township and is a short drive away when you have a travel trailer rental in Hainesport. Rancocas Creek splits into the South and North Branches of Rancocas Creek in the park, and the trails around them are beautiful for hiking, biking, and jogging. The landscape is home to lots of birds and animals.

Brendan T. Byrne State Forest is a little over 20 minutes’ drive away with your RV rental from Hainesport. Formerly known as Lebanon State Forest, this park was established in the 1800s. Explore the trails around pine trees, rest by one of lakes, or visit remains of stone and brick structures or where large depressions indicate the location of what was once a bustling town. This scenic forest has 25 miles of marked trails, and the famous Batona Trail, which is almost 50 miles in length, links Brendan T. Byrne, Wharton, and Bass River State Forests.

Wharton State Forest is the largest forest in the area and one of the most important natural areas in New Jersey. Here you can visit historic Batsto Village, a former iron and glassmaking industrial center from the 18th and 19th century. This wonderful forest has many rivers and streams perfect for canoeing and kayaking. Also, there are many beautiful trails for hikers in the park, including Batona Trail.

RV Parks near Hainesport

There are a few places to park the camper rental near Hainesport. Just half an hour‘s drive from Hainesport is the Philadelphia South / Clarksboro KOA campground. This could be a great place to stay if you want to be close to the city center of Philadelphia. This campground has bathrooms, a kitchen, a swimming pool, full hookups, a dog park, Wi-Fi, cable TV, and more. This is a family oriented park and has many activities for all ages, like horseshoes, a jumping pillow, a fishing pond, and ladder ball.

Timberland Lake Campground is about 30 minutes‘ drive from Hainesport. This park is closest to Six Flags Great Adventure, but there are also other activities organized in the park for families to enjoy. There is a daily hayride, an Olympic sized swimming pool, or you can catch fish from the shore or a rental boat on the park’s private lake. Other activities offered here are mini golf, horseshoes, and volleyball. And if you just want to relax, take a walk in the beautiful forest around the lake.

Turtle Run Campground and RV is less than an hour‘s drive away when you rent an RV in Hainesport. Surrounded by pine trees, the campground has a large playground and turtle-shaped swimming pool. There are many interesting attractions close to this campground, including Atlantic City, Jersey Shore, Wharton State Forest, and Bass River State Forest.

Exploring the Town

Hainesport is a charming little town where you can enjoy walks in one of the parks, like Hainesport Park next to the Hainesport Municipality building, Long Bridge Park, or Creek Island Park. The biggest advantage of this town is its proximity to big cities and beautiful natural areas like Rancocas State Park. Spend a day shopping or visit The Bradford Estate where many events and weddings are organized.

Just a short drive from the town is an amusement park in Mt. Laurel Township. Fun events and activities are organized year-round, and there are water slides, swimming pools, many different rides, a picnic area, an arcade, bumper cars, electric go-karts, and more. At this action-packed park, you can enjoy activities both indoors and out.

Garden State Discovery Museum is a children’s museum a short drive from Hainesport. Kids can spend a day learning and can explore fun activities organized for them all day long. There are several workshops you can sign up for like Spectacular Science, T-Rex and Turtle, Discovering Dinosaurs, Planet Pirates, theatre workshops, and live animal shows.
