Egg Harbor Township is part of Atlantic County, NJ, along with Atlantic City. It is the most populated of the cities and townships. It has two claims to fame, the first being that development of the township was licensed in return for promises that no lumber used to build houses would come from an area known as “Pine Barrens” or “the Pinelands” (an area that has been mentioned on the famous HBO TV series, The Sopranos). It is also home to at least three professional athletes, and Steve Keiner (1999 Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest winner), and Nicky Scarfo Jr, an alleged member of the Lucchese crime family.

Other nearby towns and cities include Cape May, to the south of Egg Harbor Township, Vineland, Jackson, and Atlantic City to the east. Visitors to Egg Harbor Township will likely arrive via Atlantic City International Airport. Public transportation to all of central and south Jersey (which includes Egg Harbor Township) is provided by AC Jitney Association. There are no car rental agencies directly with Egg Harbor Township, but several are located close by and Atlantic City International Airport has at least multiple national car rental agencies with service counters inside. Gas stations are plentiful and located both within and just outside of Egg Harbor Township. There are numerous grocery stores in Egg Harbor Township and nearby, including one Walmart Supercenter that can accommodate your Egg Harbor Township luxury rental RV while you shop.

Discover Egg Harbor Township

The Great Outdoors

The good news is that, with Atlantic City just around the corner, tourist numbers within Egg Harbor Township are kept to a reasonable level. There are a couple of golf courses nearby. Both have interesting layouts and strong reviews. Enjoy a nice post-round meal at one of the courses' on-site restaurants or finish a round and head back to camp with a home cooked meal prepared in your own Egg Harbor Township rental RV.

Just south of Egg Harbor Township, travelers can visit the Tuckahoe-Corbin City Fish & Wildlife Management Area. Drive your Egg Harbor Township rental motorhome along the Garden State Parkway and cross the bridge over Great Egg Harbor Bay; turn right on Tuckahoe Rd and watch for the signs. There is at least one magnificent waterfall and trails for hiking or off-road biking. Bring your binoculars and you may be lucky enough to see swans, grizzly bears and other wildlife roaming freely. Tuckahoe-Corbin is the first of a half dozen or more wildlife preserves, each and every one with something worth seeing.

RV Parks

There are multiple choices here when looking for lodging. Closer in, Shady Pines RV Resort (for travelers 55 or older) and Atlantic Blueberry RV Park are just to the north, off of Garden State Parkway. Pomona RV Park and Campground is just north of the airport but is still described as being quiet and being close to a beach. Pomona appears to be able to offer food selections and customer reviews of the site are consistently strong. To the south, RVers can choose between Lake and Shore RV Resort, Sea Grove Camping Resort and Ocean View Resort Campground; all three of these accommodations are located just off of US-9.

Exploring The City

Children up to the age of five will love Storybook Land, which has rides, light shows, and a splash park. Older kids will like Playland's Castaway Cove, which has roller coasters, mini golf and more. Parasailing, water skiing, jet skiing, and laser tag are options for the more daring, adrenaline-rush seeking enthusiasts.

Those seeking quieter, more relaxing entertainment can park their Egg Harbor Township rental camper and check out Ocean City Beach & Boardwalk, and Ventnor City Boardwalk, or book a fishing charter out of Somers Point. When the excitement has drained off, along with all of your energy, try one of the many spas for a rejuvenating massage.

When you book an RV in Egg Harbor Township, you’ll find that the town has the usual array of excellent dining establishments, but when in New Jersey it would be a crime not to eat out under the stars. This could be achieved by preparing your own home-cooked meal in your Egg Harbor Township motorhome rental. Many of this township’s restaurants have either sidewalk or patio seating or floor to ceiling windows providing breathtaking views. The steakhouses and pub/bar eateries would satisfy even the most spoiled of palates, but Egg Harbor Township’s proximity to the sea means that their seafood will be out of this world, from the usual salmon and shellfish offerings to specials such as octopus or squid. Post dining activities should include a night time walk to take in the city lights and whatever special events are taking place.

After explorations of the city are complete, take the Egg Harbor Township rental motorhome about 55 miles north to the bustling and historic city of Philadelphia, PA. Visit The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (of the American Revolution), a monument located off of Walnut St, between South 6th & South 7th Streets. It is located near Thomas Jefferson University; both of these attractions would be even more special viewed by moonlight.
